I got interested in photography while working as a fashion model. On photoshoots, I was captivated by the process and the way that a photographer could capture mood and movement and light. Plus I’m a bit of a gadget geek, so I loved the equipment.

It didn’t take long before I was more interested in being on the other side of the camera, and I assisted a top fashion photographer, unpaid, for over a year to learn the craft. Then I headed off to Art school with a portfolio of work that allowed me to go straight into the second year of the course.

I was only ever interested in photographing people, and gravitated to fashion photography as I knew the industry and found it offered enormous creative freedom. One could come up with seemingly-crazy visual and conceptual ideas and be paid to go shoot them!

Plus the parties were legendary.
